Students who are graduating or withdrawing from the University may request a refund at the end of the fall or summer semester.

Employees who are retiring or resigning from the University may request a refund the week prior to their departure and submit it to the Captains Card Office. Refunds will only be issued to a student or an employee if a written request is submitted to the Captains Card Office.

VII. Meal Plans

Meal plans are purchased through the University Housing Office. Any questions regarding adding, changing or canceling your meal plan should be directed to the University Housing Office at (757)594-7756 or emailed to housing@cnu.edu. The last day to cancel or change your meal plan is the first day of classes each semester.

To learn about meal plans, please see the Dining Services website

Questions regarding how or where to use a meal plan and what the different types of accounts associated with the meal plan are, should be directed to the Captains Card Office at (757) 594-8834 or emailed to captainscard@cnu.edu.

Failure to eat meals or pay the charges does not release an individual from the obligation of their contract. Expectations are that all patrons clear their dishes and trays from the table. Proper attire and conduct are required. Only personal assistance animals are permitted in dining facilities. Meal plans are for the use of the contracted student only.

VIII. Liability for Illegitimate Use of Account

The customer (student, faculty or staff member) is responsible for safe-guarding his/her Captains Card. Should the card become lost or misplaced, either accidentally or by theft, the University assumes no responsibility for illegitimate withdrawals from the customer's account(s) prior to the customer notifying the Captains Card Office by phone at (757) 594-8834 or by email at captainscard@cnu.edu. Once the office has been notified, the account(s) will be deactivated until the rightful owner has the card reactivated or replaced. If a card is lost or stolen and the Captains Card Office is closed, notify University Police of the loss at (757) 594-7053 or you can suspend your account online.
